Caring for Your Boards

Let's keep your cutting board in tip-top shape. Here are a few simple tips.

First Use Preparation

  • Wash with lukewarm water (around 35°C) and mild soap, then dry thoroughly.

Daily Care

  • Clean: Wash with mild soap after each use.
  • Dry: Wipe dry with a cloth and let it air dry upright.

Monthly Maintenance

  • Deep clean: Scrub with coarse salt and lemon half, and rinse it to sanitise and remove stains.
  • Oil: Apply food-safe mineral oil or wax to enhance its durability and help to prevent moisture absorption.

Do's and Don'ts

Do's

  • Store upright to allow even air circulation.
  • Sanitise with a diluted vinegar solution (1:2 ratio of vinegar to water) when needed.

Don'ts

  • Soak in water.
  • Wash in dishwasher.
  • Put hot pans and pots on board.
  • Apply cooking oils like olive or coconut oil (they leave strange smell and sticky residue).
